U.S. citizens may apply for a fiancé (e) classification (K-1) for their fiancé (e) if they are getting married to a foreign national in the United States.
You and your fiancé (e) must be free to marry, which implies that you are both single and that any prior unions were dissolved by death, divorce, or annulment. Before applying for the fiancé (e) visa, you also have to have physically been with your fiancé (e) during the previous two years. Only in cases where meeting the fiancé (e) in person would be against long-standing traditions or extremely difficult for you, can this requirement be waived.
Within 90 days of the fiancé's entry into the country, you two must get married.
