Planted Aquaria

I’m so glad I found this aquarium store in Oakville! They have an amazing selection of healthy fish and beautiful aquatic plants. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. I’m absolutely thrilled with my new Otocinclus Catfish and Water Lettuce. This is now my go-to place for all my aquarium needs — highly recommend!

Best aquarium store I've been to. The selection was vast and healthy, the staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. Very specialized and had items for sale that I've never seen in other aquarium stores for sale, which is a massive help since otherwise you would be ordering online from pictures. I have highly recommended going in person and then shopping online. Great to see a hyper specific store nowadays, especially with all the expertise to support it. I had a massive hair algae outbreak and everything suggested worked amazingly and I was not upsold into anything. Really appreciated the help, go support them!

Great store with a cute cat! :) I bought 2 Honey Gouramis and 2 super blue shrimp to go with the 3 blue dreams already in my tank. Two days later and one of the super blues are already berried! Honeys are absolutely adorable and a joy to have. Staff was helpful and patient!

Accidentally stumbled upon the website when doing my research to start a new tank. Amazed by the detailed introduction for each plant and fish and decide to pay a visit. And ofc! It did not disappoint. The stores got two flats, not the biggest store I been to, nevertheless it’s clean and organized with variety of items. The only cons is they had so much great plants and beautiful livestocks that I ended up spending $$ on the visit haha.

Knowledgeable staff and an elite stock of aquarium plants, as well as solid offerings of fresh water fish, equipment, and hardcape elements. I bought my central hardcape piece and all of my plants and the first fish for my new tank there.

This is a treasure store for the best products and rare items. The only store that had the ada skimmer vuppa II in stock and some hard to find TC plants. The staff is kind enough to take my ups label and drop it off at the depot for next day shipping which saved me $70 in 407 fees. The one time I drove to the store from Markham I was treated with the healthiest looking plants and fish in the store!

I had a really amazing experience here, I decided to pick up my order in person and even though it was a 1 hour drive it was the best decision I made, meeting you guys and seeing the store in person was great, you are very honest and inviting. The display tanks are well maintained and beautifully scaped. I am very happy with my order and would happily order from you again, the only negative for me is that I don’t live closer to you. Planted Aquaria is the best freshwater aquarium store in the GTA! The plants are lush, and the fish & shrimps are absolutely adorbs, and the space is so incredibly organized and well-maintained. The staff REALLY know their stuff and are always happy to help with any questions you have. They even let me hold a crab!! 🦀😭💜 If you’re into aquariums or looking to start one, this is definitely the place to go! 🐟

on my adventure to find more local fish stores, i recently visited planted aquaria in oakville and was pleasantly surprised by how much this smaller shop has to offer. despite its compact size, they carry an impressive range of high-quality products, including chihiros stuff, which i rarely see in other stores. it's clear that they've curated their inventory with care. the store is split into two levels: upstairs is where you'll find equipment and a selection of plants, while downstairs houses their main collection of plants and fish. the variety of aquatic plants really stood out to me--not only is the selection extensive, but the pricing is very reasonable too. while their fish selection isn't the largest, i still managed to find exactly what i was looking for. one thing to note is that there's no parking lot for the store--only paid street parking. so, if you're coming by car, be prepared to pay for parking. if you're into aquascaping or simply need good quality aquarium supplies, this shop is definitely worth checking out!

Best place ever. This store is like shrimp heaven, there is so much greenery and cute fish that are well-cared for. I will totally come back to shop with them, definitely recommend checking out.
