The food and drinks were good, and we genuinely enjoyed the pizza and pasta. However, the overall dining experience was let down by the service and the lack of air conditioning.
The restaurant does not have an air-conditioned room, which made dining rather uncomfortable, especially in the heat.
More disappointing was the service. When serving our table, the female server’s demeanor came across as visibly annoyed and unwelcoming. Yet when she approached Western guests, she suddenly became cheerful, smiling warmly and enthusiastically recommending dishes and drinks.
This was not a language issue — our English was more than adequate. We all pay the same price for the food and service, so the same level of courtesy should apply to everyone. The difference in treatment was difficult not to notice, especially when the server herself is Asian.
It’s a shame, as we are staying in Phu Quoc, because we genuinely enjoyed the food and would have happily returned. However, after feeling that we were treated differently as Asian customers, we would rather go to other places.
