The Kerala High Court dismissed Writ Petition No. 41064/2025 challenging the professional status of physiotherapists.
1️⃣ The Court held that qualified physiotherapists under the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) Act, 2021 are entitled to use the title “Dr.” with the suffix “PT.”
2️⃣ The ruling recognised physiotherapy as an evidence-based, autonomous healthcare profession with independent practice.
3️⃣ The Court upheld the provisions of the NCAHP Act and its competency-based curriculum, rejecting all legal challenges against them.
✅ The decision strengthens the legal recognition and professional autonomy of physiotherapists in India.
