A gem of a store with sweet and helpful folks assisting you. The shoes are of the highest quality with artisan care taken into every single product. Compared to similar quality shoes, Perera prices are extremely competitive. When buying here you are supporting local artisans and sustain a long line of local cobbler tradition. Other cool items include wallets, belts, and sandals. If you’re lucky and Javier is around, you may get a chance to see the work shop upstairs. The only complaint I have was that there were too many options to fit in my suitcase. Don’t miss out on this place!

A Masterclass in Craftsmanship – My Custom Olive & Ocean Blue Versos Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of having a pair of Verso Sneakers custom-made in a striking combination of Olive and Ocean Blue leather, and the entire experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The Workshop Experience: The highlight was being able to visit their workshop in Antigua, Guatemala. Seeing the artisans at work really puts the "Made to Order" label into perspective. Every detail—from the hand-lasting to the intricate Bologna (glove) construction—is done with a level of precision you just don't see in modern retail. Watching the team transform raw, buttery soft calf leather into a structured, beautiful shoe was a masterclass in old-world techniques. The Final Product: Unique Aesthetic: The Olive and Ocean Blue pairing is sophisticated and unique; the colors have a depth that only high-quality, full-grain leather can achieve. Out-of-the-Box Comfort: Thanks to the Bologna construction, these were incredibly flexible and comfortable from the very first wear—no "break-in" period required. Built to Last: Unlike standard sneakers, these are fully leather-lined and resolable, meaning they are built for years of use rather than just a season. If you appreciate intentional design and want a shoe that tells a story, I cannot recommend Perera Shoemaker enough. They truly live up to their motto of choosing "meaning over mass."
