A warning from our team this spring - and we wish we didn’t have to share it.
In the last two weeks alone, we’ve responded to 3 homes in the Sacramento area where rainwater came inside because the gutters weren’t working properly. Blocked, damaged, or poorly installed gutters caused water to overflow and seep directly into the home.
The damage was real. The cleanup wasn’t cheap. And in all 3 cases insurance didn’t cover it.
Most homeowner policies don’t cover water damage caused by poor maintenance. If your gutters were clogged or failing, the claim gets denied.
Before the next storm hits, take 10 minutes to:
✅ Check your gutters for debris and blockages
✅ Make sure downspouts direct water away from your foundation
✅ Look for any sagging or detached sections
It’s a 10-minute job that could save you thousands.
If water has already gotten in, don’t wait. Mold starts growing within 24 hours.
