What a heartbreaking service to have to recommend. My heart is with you if you are reading reviews and having to make an impossible decision. And my gratitude will forever be with Dr. Amy for helping me through those last moments with my best friend.
My girl, Swayze, was at the end of a long health journey, spent 5 days in the vet ICU right after Christmas, and was cleared to come home to me on New Years Eve, knowing that she would likely never make a full recovery. We were both just grateful that she was home and we could spend whatever time she had left together. We both did our best, but she woke up a few days later remarkably worse and we knew. As much as I came to respect and trust her vet, I couldn't bear the thought of her in another exam room and I ended up right here, reading testimonials and trying to do the best by my girl one last time.
As frequently stated, Dr. Amy responded promptly and kindly, conducted her business with dignity, and talked us through the whole process before starting and while she was working. She anecdotally mentioned past patients like they were friends and spoke about them with a warm smile. Most importantly for me in that moment, she was able to schedule us within a few hours. As horrible as it is, not having to wait was the biggest kindness Dr. Amy could have shown us that day. When it was done and only after I was ready for them to go, the last thing Dr. Amy said was that Swayze would be "hanging out with with her" until the next step -- like she was still watching out for her, even after passing.
Dr. Amy: I'm sure it's not lost on you that you are meeting people in the same moment as their lives are changing forever, likely not in a happy way. It's not lost on me how seriously you take that. Thank you for your compassion, wisdom, and strength through that experience. You made an impossible day a little easier to navigate and gave me peace in saying goodbye. Forever grateful.
