What is a WDO Inspection?
WDO is an acronym for “Wood-Destroying Organisms”. During the inspection the primary goal is to identify any signs of insects and non-insect organisms that destroy wood. Non-insect organisms include types of fungi that decay or destroy wooden components. A WDO inspector looks for any evidence of these organisms and submits a report on any findings.
A WDO report in Florida is regulated by FDACS (Florida Department of Agriculture and Customer Services.). Regulations regarding a WDO inspection is different in each state. Some states require only a WDI (Wood-Destroying Insects report). Wood-decay fungi are not included in this report.
Only Licensed Pest Control companies can issue a WDO Report.
