Parkway Health Center (Orem)

Dr here had been treating my dad for over 10 years. In the last 2-3 years, he’s had a stroke, high blood pressure, cognitive decline and poor mobility. This doctor has prescribed medications for each of these. About 6 months ago, I asked my dad to take his blood sugar and let me know what it was. He calls to tell me it’s 420. We meet him at this clinic to see his primary care doctor, who isn’t super surprised by this. In fact, he tells my family that my dad tested to be in the diabetic range for the last two years. He has had uncontrolled type 2 diabetes for the last two years and the doctor never treated it. He treated ALL of the symptoms. Now, my dad’s blood sugar is within a normal range, and his blood pressure is down, his memory is improved and he’s walking much better. Watch out!

I've been impressed by how well the entire team works together to provide the best care possible. They listen to their patients and focus on individual needs instead of treating you like another number. The providers are genuine and make you feel comfortable enough to have open dialogue. Fiona and the other nice lady who came in (I'm so sorry, I didn't catch your name!) were both incredibly helpful and kind through the whole process. I don't leave reviews often but 5 stars for the both of them easily!

After dealing with a shoulder issue for 2 years, I was referred to Dr. Eric B. Leach. He & his staff spent over 2 hrs. with x-rays, examination, & treatment. He diagnosed the exact issue with my shoulder. I feel as though I’m now going to get better now with Dr. Leach!! A-Plus Service!!

Steven Ruiz. Went the extra mile to take care of me. I went to a near by hospital treated me for the wrong diagnosis. Gave me a wrong prescription. He took matters into his own hands. Got me on the right medication and going back in for a follow up. Thank you again for the great care I received.

Honest, objective healthcare the way it used to be… the way it should be! Your care is truly a partnership between you and your providers. Steve Ruiz at Orem is probably the best primary care provider I’ve EVER met… thoughtful, patient, well studied, current, and honest, he treats the whole person, but just a symptom. His attention to detail and aggressive intervention literally saved my life—and my leg.

This is a first-class operation, including reception, pharmacy, and all medical personnel. My primary care physician, Dr. Malcolm Masteller, is a superb doctor: knowledgeable, caring, pleasant, and effective.

Steven Ruiz did an excellent job of getting to know my health history. I was very pleased with the visit and am happy to now have Steve as my primary care provider. I am confident I will receive excellent care from him and the other members of the Family Practice Clinic at the Parkway Health Center in Orem.

Ruiz is truly the only consistently positive experience I’ve had at the U. Whether he’s able to treat the issue directly or needs to refer me elsewhere, his bedside manner is what sets him apart—empathetic, kind, and deeply respectful. He genuinely listens, which is such a rare and valuable quality in the practice. You never feel rushed or dismissed; he makes you feel heard, seen, and cared for. I’ve been willing to travel 30 miles just to see him specifically, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. That’s how much his compassion and professionalism mean to me. I’ll admit, I haven’t always been the easiest patient- he’s probably like oh goodness not her again 🤦‍♀️ but not because of anything he’s done, but just from the frustration of being sick and the other provider is not even remotely helpful. Even then, he’s remained incredibly patient and understanding, never taking it personally, in addition my daughter now wants him as her provider because she’s seen how he treats me which says a lot about his character. He is a true gem in this practice, and I deeply appreciate him

Kyle Hilton is not personable or professional. He did not seem to listen to anything I said and seemed to just assume what I was saying rather than actually listening. Would not recommend him to anybody.
