At the start of the next tax year on Wednesday 6th April, workers began paying more national insurance.
The rate at which you pay national insurance has increased by 1.25% percentage points above the previous rate of 12%.
The good news is that for most workers this increase till only last until June. This is because most of us will begin paying less national insurance from July as the national insurance threshold increases.
