I came with a friend for a 90 minute deep tissue massage. The place looks pretty crappy right upon entry - broken looking pedicure chairs, strange little plastic gifts in the window, dirty walls and decore, worker's personal belongings scattered around. But the massage cubby i was assigned was ok, it seemed clean (tho it was super dark so really who knows). My massage was ok, but they were doing construction in the storefront next door - very loudly banging, power tools, a compressor, one guy bursting into song periodically - and that was pretty awful and not at all relaxing. Just when i would begin to tune it out, they would drop a pile of lumber or something. Tbh the place should not have booked massage appointments with the chaos of construction on the other side of a very thin wall. I could hear every word of the dudes speaking to each other! But... maybe they didn't know? I was trying to cut them slack on it. But it was pretty bad. Then when our massages were done - 10 minutes earlier than they were supposed to be, but i was so ready to get out of there - my friend and i took turns using their restroom (which is FILTHY), and when i came out i tipped the massage therapist $20. Then the counter lady accosted me as i was waiting: "Tip the girl! Tip the girl!" I told her I had tipped and she just kept saying it!
A terrible experience, absolutely wretched. And my friend said her massage was awful, too, that the girl was clearly untrained and just pushed her elbows into her back for an entire hour. She wanted to leave after 30 minutes. I am so sorry we chose this place out of the hundreds of options, but it was short notice and close to our hotel. What a mistake.
Dirty. Loud. Poorly trained. Aggressive, rude desk person. I cannot figure out how they have so many positive reviews.
