2018 REMODEL TRENDS
Here's a list of trends that are now OUT, and the new trends that are IN.
Here's my take on the INs and OUTs.
1. Personally, I do not agree with the very first item on the OUT list!! All-white kitchens will always be a favorite in my book. You can pop some colorful accents on the island or counters. Or, put glass doors on your cabinets to show off your brightly colored Fiesta Ware, but all white kitchens (when done tastefully) will never go out of style with their clean, fresh look and ability to accessorize.
2. On the other hand I do believe that "Word Art" definitely belongs on the OUT list. The trend to write "cute" things on your walls in calligraphy, block letters or a mix of different fonts is childish and belongs on the wall in an elementary school. Totally, totally approve of this one going on the OUT list.
3. I can totally dig the new jewel tone trend on the IN list. Who doesn't love rich, warm colors that are so gorgeous they are named after JEWELRY. I love it. I approve.
4. Brass is on the IN list. I guess everything in moderation...but, with brass, moderation should mean one small accent accessory on your end tables. Ok?! Not fixtures, not faucets, not shower trim or kitchen hardware. You got it? Small brass accent accessory e.g. a small sculpture on your coffee table. That's it. No more.
5. Floral is also on the IN list. Again.Moderation. Perhaps accent pillows is sufficient for this one. Just say no to floral wallpaper!
