Old Townley Lofts

Love living at Old Townley Lofts! The building has so much character, my unit is super spacious, and the location is perfect. Management is responsive and everything feels well-kept and secure. Easily one of the best places I’ve lived in KC.

I really enjoyed my time here. Great price, great location, unique apartment styles, and great people! Unity Lofts purchased the building and several others earlier in the year. Best thing they ever did because they made so many improvements. They updated the recreation room, gym, and built a package locker. They also amped up on security to ensure the safety of the residents. They are currently updating the apartments and they look AMAZING. Kaitlin (Unity Lofts Manager) and Dominic (Leasing) were absolutely amazing and I loved having them in the building for questions or just a chat. I am going to miss this place!

I’ve absolutely loved living here for the past four years—if I could’ve bought my unit, I would have! The only reason I’m leaving is because I need more space, but this has truly been an incredible home. The office and maintenance staff are outstanding—always helpful, responsive, and willing to go the extra mile. One summer, they went above and beyond to fix my AC when I was panicking about my aquarium getting too warm. That kind of care and dedication means everything! The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of River Market, within walking distance of the best restaurants, bars, and the farmers market (which became my spring and summer ritual). There are events year-round, easy access to the riverfront and parks, and the streetcar makes getting downtown effortless. Beyond that, the building itself is gorgeous, well-maintained, and priced as reasonably as you’ll find anywhere in the area. I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re considering moving here, do it. You won’t regret it!

I have lived here for over a year with nothing but great experiences. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful which is a nice change from most leasing offices. The leasing office has helped me out on several occasions and are always very understanding. I’ve only had a few maintenance issues, that are very typical of any apartment, and they are always fixed quickly. Maintenance staff are very friendly and helpful. The apartments are well renovated and public areas are always clean. Other residents are friendly and respectful. If you’re looking for a great place to live in downtown KC this it! The street car stop outside makes any place in downtown KC a walk away. The area I quiet and feels safe. I would highly recommend this apartment complex to anyone I know.

I've lived at OT for almost three years and have loved it! OT is such a great mix of modern amenities (updated kitchen, washer/dryer, lots of storage) and unique touches (exposed brick, wooden beams, large windows). Not only is OT a great place to live, it's also in such a perfect spot in the River Market. You can walk to dinner, grab coffee at one of the many coffee shops, or do your grocery shopping at the farmer's market on the weekend. Highly recommend OT and Unity Lofts for anyone looking to move!

Old Townley really is an unbeatable location. The proximity to the River Market and access to the streetcar makes the entire downtown area walkable, plus the riverfront is a block away. The building is safe and secure and we absolutely love the atmosphere and community amongst the neighborhood residents. The staff for Unity Lofts have always been pleasant to work with and so so helpful with any issues that come up (shoutout to the maintenance tech Troy, he’s a rockstar!) Totally recommend living here.

We love living at Old Townley Lofts There is almost no noise from other tenants and we have a spectacular view of the river. Im crazy in love with this place !!! My dog and I have lived here for 2 years now and we couldn’t be happier renters! The staff (Dominic, Kathryn and Kaitlin ) are very communicative and polite. They are willing to hear concerns and help figure them out. They make the place like a home! The river market is a safe, cozy , private place to be and although there are many people living here, it never feels crowded. There are rooms you can rent for parties, pool table, free coffee and lots of social events makes this place an amazing place to live 🫶🏽 The gym has everything you need to get a sensational workout ! Again , thank you for making my Fur Baby and I feel so at home . We love our place ♥️

It’s been many years since I’ve been a renter and I was nervous about the transition from owning a house in the suburbs to jumping into the heart of KC. I love everything about Old Townley Lofts. Dominic & Kaitlin in the office and Troy with maintenance have answered any questions and needs immediately. My unit is spacious with exposed brick, high ceilings and plenty of cabinets/storage. It’s hard to believe you’re in a multi-family building because you do not hear all the noises of your neighbors. The location is perfect at the east end of the market area, it’s right across the street from everything, even a street car stop. Walkability is amazing, if you want fun, food, fitness or to walk your dog. The free bus line, scooters and bikes are also very close. I wanted secured entry, secured parking in a nice area. I have that plus so much more!

Would love to give this apartment good ratings but unfortunately their dishonestly and poor business practices leave me to share my story. Lived here for 5 years, always paid my rent on time, never was a disturbance to others. I was made to give the leasing office a money order to get another building key for guests- I have the postal office receipt- of the leasing manager who cashed it - and on move out they reported they did not have my money and would not return the deposit- as I was giving my keys back because it wasn’t their problem and I had no proof. I had asked for a thorough breakdown of their inspection upon move out - as they withheld most of my deposit and I have gotten no response or reply which is illegal in Missouri tenant - landlord rules. The place was cleaned extensively. I have photos of all the damages before moving in. I DO NOT recommend giving this apartment your business because they are thieves within a despondent management company where tenants are disposable and leasing managers steal your money.

All I have to say about living here is good luck. I waited until I finally (after 57 days and 7 separate requests) got them to refund my deposit to post this. Old Townley is hands down the most poorly managed apartment I’ve ever lived in. AC went out? Plan to show up in person every day for weeks until they decide to fix it. Garage door broken? Well, that’s status quo here so if your car gets broken into, so sorry. Hope you need nothing from management, because it takes an act of god to spur Kaitlin to do much of anything. The number of times it’s taken to even get a response from the office is amazing. Maintenance? I think they’ve finally hired someone. I’d expect a better experience at $600 a month, let alone ~$2000. By the way, they definitely incentivize those nice reviews people have left.
