OCU Performing Arts Academy

I had so much fun at ocu meeting new people and creating new experiences. OCU summer music has a great program and it is always a good way to spend summer.

This was the second year our daughter attended the 5-week camp. Fortunately, this year, she was able to attend in person after being virtual in 2020. The experience for her was amazing! She loved the staff and counselors, the audition prep, master classes in voice, acting, and dance! During her 5 weeks there, we talked with her once by FaceTime which spoke to her incredible experience! Thank you Dr. Herendeen, Brian Cowing, JoBeth Moad, Melissa Rice and all the counselors who helped to make it such a fabulous experience for her!

My daughter had the most amazing experience during her three weeks at OCU. Professional and caring staff. Beautiful facilities. She absorbed as much as she could from all the knowledgeable and talented instructors. The end performance was outstanding. And the parent information session was incredible. I just wanted her to stop looking at other schools and just apply to OCU. It is an environment that I highly recommend! Thank you to all who were involved. Hoping our paths cross again.

My daughter participated in the three-week Musical Theater camp at OCU and was thrilled with the experience. She received vigorous training in dance, drama and voice while participating in a double cast production of Urinetown. She was extremely impressed by the quality of the training and the professionalism of the campers. She also spoke very highly of the counselors who were upbeat, helpful and friendly. The OCU campus was quiet and did not have much to offer in the surrounding area but my daughters schedule was so full that she hardly cared. I would highly recommend this program to any high school student who is serious about a MT education and career.

Our daughter received amazing instruction during her 3 weeks at OCU’s high school theater intensive. OCU makes student safety their top priority. The students that were accepted into this program were exceptional and helped challenge our daughter to grow. We love that the instruction was given by faculty members. They performed Legally Blonde at the end and it was fantastic! We would highly recommend!!

My daughter absolutely LOVED her OCU High School Summer Music Intensive this year. Not only did she have the opportunity to receive training by extraordinary top-notch teachers in acting, voice and dance but she also got to enjoy the success and camaraderie of being part of a full-length production! She was also able to stay in the dorms and live on campus for 3 weeks so she could get to experience OCU as a potential college choice. When picking our daughter up the last day to head home, she asked if there was a way she could skip the rest of high school and just stay at OCU - so I guess that’s the BEST endorsement! Thank you OCU for a wonderful summer!!

OCU Summer Theatre Intensive is a great way to see if your child enjoys the pace, teaching and expectations of college theatre. My daughter had a wonderful time and learned a lot. She loved the professors and the counselors. It was a great experience and their 2 performances of Sweeney Todd was amazing.

Our daughter had an amazing experience at OCU’s summer pre-college intensive. As she put it, it was one of the best experiences of her life and she’s so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and work with such knowledgeable, talented and wonderful people. It absolutely cemented her love of musical theater and the musical theater community. Many, many thanks OCU Performing Arts!!

Our daughter had an absolutely fantastic time during her three weeks at OCU! She had so much fun, made many new friends, and most importantly learned a ton from her time in workshops, master classes and rehearsals. Lastly, we were blown away by the final performance of Sweeny Todd and are still in awe in what was accomplished in just three weeks. What a wonderful program! Our daughter attended this past summer and she was able to improve her skills, get a good feel for what a day in the life of musical theater student would look like and make friends from all over the country. She still talks of the time she spent at camp as the highlight of her summer. Highly recommend!
