Northern Motel, sault ste marie.

The scenery here is beautiful, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The entire place is clean and well-kept, which made for a very comfortable stay. One of the highlights is the large kitchen available for guests who want to cook their own meals — such a great touch. The rooms are spacious, and I especially appreciated the option of two separate rooms, perfect if you’re traveling with friends and want a bit of privacy. Even though we arrived late, the staff were incredibly accommodating, making the check-in process smooth and stress-free. Overall, a great place to relax and enjoy your surroundings.

The owner is nice and social. The location is super quiet, something I appreciated after a long drive. Checking in and out is very smooth should you arrive within the specified hours. It is a family owned-operated motel so it's best to respect their hours of operation. The room was very clean and spacious. The duvet covers gave the stay a nice feel. All equipment are provided as listed and matched the description. Hoping for higher water pressure next time :) *Canada Day 2025.

I really enjoyed my stay last month on August 28th. I was late that night for check in but i felt very comfortable overall. Good experience and i loved the location too. I stayed in the no pets, no smoking room middle of the motel, it was clean and neat. Only thing is the hot water didn’t work that night they might have fixed by now i guess. Try this motel 👍

Absolutely NOT friendly owners! We did not see a smile not once from either of them even tho we smiled and waved at both while we were outside smoking. Owner had seen us all weekend outside smoking. Come time to check out they tried to keep our $200 deposit saying we were smoking in the room. We did not smoke in the room at all. We pointed out that the 2 rooms on either side of us are smoking rooms. In fact the motel is set up where every other room is a smoking room. We kept pushing and got our deposit back. We would highly recommend going somewhere else as there any many motel and hotels close by.

Room was specious and clean. However, heater was not functioning up to the mark, was bit slow. Overall it was good experience.

My husband and i stayed at the Northern Motel on the way to Neys Provincial park this July. It was conveniently located, ,affordable newly renovated, clean and quiet. Just what we needed. To top it off the owner was very helpful and friendly. i would highly recommend this motel!

Northern motel isnt bad, newer renovated room, the only few downsides were as follows: - Sandy floor (If there was a broom, It would have been better) - Without the AC on, you could hear the cars on the road like the windows were opened. - Very noisy doors - Low water pressure for shower. However! it was just a place to rest up and shower for the night while driving through town. So for what it was id recommend. For longer stays however im not sure, bring a broom if you do!

I arrived around midnight last Thursday and was grateful that someone was available to rent me a room. He gave me #37. The room smelled so strongly of cat pee that I was unable to sleep even with the window wide open. I went to the office and told the owner who came to the room and checked. He said he couldn't smell anything. I was shocked as I couldn't even be in there without gagging. He did not offer a refund or another room. Very poor experience. I would not recommend. The owner is a liar. There was no sleep at all due to disgusting smell. The only reason I didn't report sooner is because I am not a complainer and did not want to wake anyone. Worst experience ever. Do Not stay here.

Not much to complain about here, great value spot. Only issue is the water is spotty with pressure and temp but just have to be patient with it

Definite bed bug infestation - my husband left with 33 bites. 😬 Ps; other people staying woke us up at 5:30AM beeping their horns insessently at sporadic intervals.
