Junction box that seems quite simple enough. But actually there’s a lot of work that goes into a junction box and it’s the junction of potentially two different types of wiring. In this particular case it goes from NMB (wire regular house wiring )to wiring in conduit.
The placement of a junction box is actually very strategic. Where is the best place to bring the regular wire through the wall. As well as being able to route the conduit in the most direct manner.
Metal junction boxes also need to be grounded that’s why you will see the green grounds stalled noting that is what it’s for.
Conduit fittings coming into the box must also be tight to provide grounding to the metal conduit.
Metal conduit is the most durable and actually is the preferred method for any indoor conduit.
