It was a pleasure and joy to work with John, Quinn and the whole Nieland team. We are first-time homebuyers and new to Oregon, and felt apprehensive about purchasing property so far away from home. However, the Nielands’ kind and welcoming spirit put our family at ease as soon as we met, and the friendship that grew gave us the confidence to take the leap and settle our family of four here in Lake Oswego.
The Nielands’ knowledge of Lake Oswego is unparalleled, as their family has been in real estate since the early 70’s. Every time we mentioned a property we were interested in, either John or Quinn would come back to us with detailed information that would have been impossible to procure except with the experience and long-term relationships the Nielands have been able to enjoy over the years. And this was before we had even asked them to be our realtors!
Going into business with friends can be difficult, but at some point my husband and I realized that in order to find the right home, we needed to work with John and Quinn. Over a period of just two months (and I believe 200 emails, letters and phone calls sent on our behalf), we were able to find a beautiful waterfront home that we would never even dreamed of owning and enjoying, had it not been for the Nielands' communal spirit, their business acumen, and the quality of their professional relationships. My family could not be happier in our new home.
But beyond the house and all of the details of the largest financial purchase of one's life, I am so happy to just be part of the whole Nieland clan's orbit. A friend once said that John and Quinn were put on this earth to help people, and I couldn't agree more. Their passion for family is what led them to real estate; it is just that homes are such a big part of family life that they are in this business. I think what makes them tick at the end of the day is joy--the joy in sharing the fruits of one's hard-earned life, having a blast while doing it, and the more kids the better! Being around these rad dads has made me a more fun mom, a more communally-minded citizen, and now even a boater to boot. Meeting the Nielands will likely go down as one of our family's biggest blessings in this life, I am sure of it.
