Depression can be caused by medical conditions that effect the brain. Hormonal problems like thyroid disease can cause depression. So can a number of inflammatory diseases, autoimmune problems, medication side effects and many others. Several of these medical conditions cause depression by harming the "power plant" of your cells called, "mitochondria." If the mitochondria are damaged or inhibited, your cells can't make enough energy to function properly. This is why many people experience "brain fog," low energy, poor stamina and poor concentration and even some mild memory issues, and of course, depression. Fixing the medical issue, removing the "toxic" offender that's harming the mitochondria, giving the mitochondria what it needs to function properly and, of course, TMS, can also be an enormous help to get you back to feeling like your normal self again. (Ironically, antidepressant medications do not help mitochondrial causes of depression and may acocunt for why antidepressants only help 27% of those with depression.)
