The needle on the left is 31 gauge. The one on the right is 27 gauge. The 27 gauge has been the standard needle for ED injections. The 31 gauge needle is only 40% of the area of the 27 gauge. The discomfit caused when injecting through the wall of the corpus cavernosum with the 27 gauge needle is eliminated when using the 31 gauge needle.
