ED injection therapy uses BD insulin syringes. The needle on a BD insulin syringe is 27 gauge or 0.4128 mm in diameter, or 0.134 square mm. The smaller the diameter of the needle the less the discomfit and trauma. I now supply 31 gauge needles. These are 0.2604 mm in diameter, or 0.053 square mm. The 31 gauge needles are only 40% of the size of the 27 gauge needles. They cause minimal discomfit and trauma. I can supply the ED medicine in a preloaded pen applicator. This is extremely easy to use, small, robust and discrete.
