Meet Mark Handfield, our credit analyst, who joined our team in October 2024. Mark grew up in Enfield, CT, and studied history and political science at WNEU before pivoting to finance.
His path to banking began as a teller at United Bank while completing his MBA. From residential lending to commercial work at Greenfield Co‑Op, Mark has built his career by learning how all the pieces fit together.
Outside the office, you’ll find him reading, golfing (his words: “poorly” 😅), attending concerts, or hunting down a great lunch at Joey’s Deli & Market in Agawam. He’s also a serious vinyl collector and recounts seeing Jimmy Buffett a few summers back as one of his best live shows.
When asked for advice for anyone starting in banking, Mark says, “Absorb as much as you can about what your co‑workers do, even if it’s not directly related to your role. It helps you improve your own work and strengthens office camaraderie.” We couldn’t agree more!
