My experience with James Sherbin was deeply disappointing for both myself and my son. I hired Neumann Law to help challenge my ex-wife’s unilateral decision to put our son on ADHD medication under the assumption she had sole custody. I called Kelly Neumann with whom I attended high school with and she referred me to James Sherbin, who from the outset demonstrated a lack of experience, confidence, and courtroom presence.
Communication was poor, not clear and timid throughout. James was disorganized, extremely passive during proceedings, and failed to use critical evidence (including text messages) that could have supported my case.
On the day of the cross-examination, he called me just three hours before to ask whether I wanted him to attend in person or via Zoom—knowing full well he wouldn’t be able to make it to court on time from traverse city to Kalamazoo. He ended up appearing via Zoom, which was unprofessional and ill-prepared for such a crucial moment. Unacceptable.
Rather than working toward solutions or advocating effectively on my behalf, James seemed more concerned about his perineal feeling and whether I would escalate my concerns to his boss. To make matters worse, there were random, unexplained charges throughout the process.
Young, inexperienced and very passive.
James and Neumann law had no problem collecting over $11,200.00 yet terminated our agreement last night because he was offended that I contacted his boss. This is one of many examples of his mental weakness, inexperience and inability to be a leader and quality lawyer in the courtroom.
I would never recommend James Sherbin for legal representation in any capacity. My case required a capable, assertive lawyer—and unfortunately, I got the opposite.
