๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ!
Having first waited 7 hours for a well-known name-brand recovery service the night before, only for them to tell me that my car's too heavy to tow (could they not have established this *before* coming to me, and already knowing that it was a blown engine matter??) - I ditched the (name-brand) company's offer to send me a flatbed later in the morning. All trust evaporated - in all of them (I've tried them all - see Reddit - they're all the same gamble).
Cue - sitting in my broken-down car, researching private rescue and transport services.
I stumbled upon NDS - called them, and they sent me a truck within literally 20mins of calling them!!
Pure. Disbelief.
And - to boot - with the full situation taken properly into account - i.e. they specifically brought a recovery trailer that could handle my vehicle's weight (see photo). Literally the fully opposite experience of using the bigger name.
The chap they sent was Denis - lovely, friendly chap - makes all the difference, in an essentially stressful situation. He also went above and beyond in helping me get my car actually onto my sloped driveway.
I always thought that these private recovery services were only any good for ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ค๐ข๐ญ recovery - whereas if I was on holiday in Wales, it'd have to be the old-name recovery services.
But no!! NDS are national too (see other happy reviews from others - all over the country).
Cue - their keyring band is now attached to all of our car keys.
The blessing in disguise of this breakdown of mine was discovering NDS. I only drive older cars - so this is an essential, and truly game-changing find.
Thank you NDS for making it so easy to get my pride and joy back on my drive (while I mull on my options for the engine!)

(Reminder to Self - cancel Standing Order for the name-brand service!)
Edit - a week or so later - see second keys photo: Bought a 2008 Golf, to which promptly attached NDS's key fob item!
