Naybur Contracting

Sharing this review now that we’ve had some distance from our renovation and can reflect on the experience level-headedly. My husband and I hired Naybur Contracting in February 2025, prior to taking possession of our condo, with the goal of starting renovations immediately upon possession. Adam was kind, personable, and confident in his team’s ability to complete the scope of work we discussed. Because we couldn’t live in the unit during construction, both timing and quality were especially important to us. Over the following six weeks, the project experienced ongoing delays and increasing quality concerns. Adam, who had been our primary contact prior to the renovation, was only onsite three times in total and was often unresponsive to texts. On March 13, 2025 — two weeks after our original move-in date — we met with him to review a growing list of deficiencies that still existed in the home. Shortly after that meeting, we made the decision to terminate the contract. Adam acknowledged that the work was not completed to an adequate standard and agreed to waive our final payment. After parting ways, we were able to complete nearly all remaining work within approximately two weeks — but only by hiring licensed trades to fix and redo much of what had been done. This included improperly installed plumbing fixtures; cabinetry and vanities installed significantly out of level and unsecured (a safety concern); incomplete tiling and grouting; incorrectly installed doors and hardware; poor paint preparation and finishing; and damage to newly finished surfaces. The site was also frequently left messy, and garbage removal was inconsistent. While we appreciate that our final payment was waived, we still incurred approximately $30,000 out of pocket to repair and properly complete the renovation. Due to the delays, we also had to extend our rental housing and temporarily relocate. We’re sharing our experience so others can make an informed decision. While the individuals we interacted with were generally kind, we do not feel the team was equipped to manage a larger, fully comprehensive renovation of this scope, and more qualified subcontracting and oversight would have been necessary.

We had Adam in to do some work on our bathroom on short notice. We were very impressed by his responsiveness, work ethic and attention to detail. He went above and beyond and was even able to set aside time to do some additional day of repairs. Would highly recommend Naybur and Adam and would not hesitate to use them again for any minor or major work!
