I contacted Nature's carpet several times to fix an issue that arose during their 5/16 visit. I called them to replace a leaking hose connector. After their visit, the connector was still leaking, several Zone 3 sprinkler heads no longer worked, water was backing into the valve box, and Zone 4 no longer activated. Everything worked prior to their visit, excluding the hose connector that had a small leak.
This is not to mention that they don’t provide a time frame for their arrival or notify you when they’re about to arrive. There were several days where it was past 5pm and they still hadn’t arrived and so I called to reschedule. Their communication is absolutely unprofessional.
They came back out on 5/26 to investigate and did fix the leaking connector, but then also decided that the Zone 3 valve needed to be replaced, since the plunger had been damaged by debris. I was then advised to replace the Zone 4 valve myself. I did so, and everything was still not working. So, they sent out someone else, who provided a quote for $1,400 (which included replacing the brand new valves).
It was at this time I decided to obtain a quote from another company. They came out and determined that Nature's Carpet was negligent in their repairs. The electrical line to the backyard sprinklers was cut in several places (see photo) when they replaced the hose connector on their first visit, because they used a reciprocating saw. They also found a bunch of mud clogging several of the sprinkler heads and debris in the line that was causing water to back up into the valve box. They said it was because Nature's carpet did not flush the line when they replaced the connector, which caused damage to the Zone 3 plunger.
I would caution everyone to stay away from them since they will likely overcharge you for things you don’t need and/or they broke. I eventually paid another company $500 to do the proper repairs and haven’t had any issues since.
EDITS/RESPONSES:
As I noted above, the original issue I contacted them about was fixed on 5/26. This review is not about that. I continued to insist that something else had been broken/damaged because Zone 4 would never activate and Zone 3 would never shut off. Part of the reason for the 5/26 visit was to investigate that issue, so to assert that I attempted to fix it myself and that I cut the line is categorically untrue. I literally watched the technician use a reciprocating saw inches from that line on 5/16. It wasn’t until later when the second company came out that I was informed it was the electrical line to the backyard sprinklers.
And of course this additional work would be out of scope from the original issue, because they damaged my property and then repeatedly failed to identify the issue either through incompetence or a desire to not take accountability. Further evidence of them not taking accountability is apparent in their reply to this review, and is the reason I pursued another opinion. I simply could not trust that this company could diagnose the problems or fix their mistakes.
In response to the credit card charge back, that is totally my mistake. The credit card company canceled the charge back because Nature’s Lawn provided evidence that they performed the work. That’s it; and I didn’t see it until I was reviewing my August expenses yesterday, then realized I missed the email from the credit card company and was outside the window to further dispute. So, to assume they are correct because the credit card company re-issued the charge back is misleading.
Their response to my review is indicative of the type of deflection and gaslighting this company employed throughout my conversations with them. They cost me about $800 in unnecessary services and repairs. So, it is my hope this review costs them at least as much. If this review has swayed your decision against using this company then please like my review so that I know it has had an effect.
