[ To the 1-3 star reviewers: We regret to hear you didn't find the modern hotel luxuries you've come to expect while staying across the street from a truck stop four miles outside Buttonwillow. You've now forced myself and other reviewers to give five star reviews just to even out your baseless ranting and raving. ]
Yes, it looks straight out of the 70s because that's when it was built. That's like complaining about how old everything looks at a museum. As for the color, younger people don't understand just how brown and orange everything was back then, but stepping into one of these rooms will take you right back in time. The beds are comfortable, bathrooms well kept and reliable, and rooms are a decent size. Most importantly [in my opinion], the giant air conditioner does not disappoint, even in 90+ degree heat.
There's an Indian food restaurant just past the parking lot with meat and vegan options, and a 24 hour truck stop that has food and drink, travel supplies, clothing, gifts, and even a laundromat. Found myself going to another restaurant down the street for every meal and was surprised at the quality of everything in such a remote location.
