A salt-free water softener system was installed, consisting of a pre-filter, filtration unit, and the water softener itself. Since the equipment was installed in a corner of the garage, new supply and return water lines had to be routed from the main plumbing system to the installation location.
For this installation, 1-inch Type L copper piping was used. All connections were completed using the ProPress system, ensuring reliable, leak-free joints without the need for soldering.
This model of salt-free water softener requires a specific start-up procedure. The dry filtration media inside the tanks had to be thoroughly soaked with water and left to sit for the manufacturer’s recommended period before activation.
After the soaking process, the system was fully flushed using a hose. The discharge water was directed outside the house to ensure that any residual particles or debris did not enter the home’s plumbing system.
All manufacturer installation, start-up, and flushing requirements were strictly followed. After completion of all steps, the system is operating properly and functioning as intended.
