We hired Lavender out for the day on Saturday and had the most amazing day. The process of booking was super easy, we had a few questions beforehand so called up and got all the answers we needed. We arrived a bit early on the morning and were able to wait on the boat until the rest of the party arrived. There were 9 of us, plus 1 dog and we honestly all had the best day, it’s amazing how quickly 7.5 hours goes when you’re having fun. We headed towards Marsworth which was beautiful and one of the things we all loved was how friendly all the other boaters were and also people just going for a stroll along the canal, literally everyone spoke to us, such a great community. Thanks Narrowboat day hire for a brilliant day, full of memories. We’ve already said this is going to be our annual event ⚓️⛴️🏴‍☠️

We hired this on Sunday 11th for a 70th birthday. In the run up we spoke with Steve and on the day we were welcomed by Gavin. We got the boat at 9am and dropped off at 4:30pm. The instructions were clear, simple and communicated well. We had a fridge, lots of crockery, glassware and cutlery. Sounds silly but lots of spare loo roll! The boat was clean, easy to steer and clearly well maintained. Good parking availability on site as well I’ll definitely be looking to book again.

Such a great day cruising the Grand Union Canal on Albert today. The customer service received was excellent. All instructions were clear. Steve was very knowledgeable about the area. I would definitely recommend taking a barge out for a day trip. Relax along the canal with only the bird song & the chug of the engine. We throughly enjoyed it.

We had a superb day out on Victoria. Great boat packed with loads of kit and amenities. Gavin was a really lovely guy who gave us our briefing and got us on our way. We cruised up to Marsworth reservoirs which is such a beautiful stretch of canal. As a party of 10 people we comfortably fit aboard. Definitely recommend.

Just back from a day aboard Albert to celebrate a family birthday; we had a fantastic time. Paul and Ben were both great, with getting us safely away and - thankfully! - piloting the excellent boat back into the marina at the end of our day. Thoroughly recommended for a fun and relaxing day out.

We hired the Victoria boat for the day and we had such a lovely experience from start to finish. Booking the boat was easy and the owner was so helpful. We were met at the boat and although some of our party arrived a little late, we weren’t rushed and were allowed access to the boat to add some small decorations. Paul was extremely helpful before we set off, giving us information on the best routes and was easily contactable during our time on the boat in case we needed anything. The route we took towards Wendover was lovely and peaceful with beautiful scenery. We stopped off for lunch at The Grand Junction Arms which allowed us to use the picnic benches for our own picnic (we bought drinks) and had a small play area for the kids. The boat had all the amenities that we needed and all in all it was a really lovely special day! Definitely recommend!! Five stars 🌟

We had a wonderful day on Albert. The company very kindly changed our booking as thunderstorms were forecast. Superb communication, a well stocked and very clean boat with excellent tuition. We had 3 generations on board and the youngest loved running along the towpaths and “helping” with the locks. The children were given life jackets to wear all the time. Superb day!

I booked a boat for my birthday and Lavendar is beautiful, such a well equipped boat. Paul was incredibly friendly and after the induction, it was actually quite easy to drive. We had the best day and will definitely be back

Thank you Steve, Paul and Ben. From booking, (in my case, the wrong day) to coming to our rescue and allowing us to sail 24 hours early, we all thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The boat has everything you need. Everyone really enjoyed the experience, especially nanny Carol (78!). Would thoroughly recommend.

Booked a boat for the day in Tring! We had a brilliant day. A really fun way to spend my 30th birthday with friends. Paul’s instructions and contact throughout the day were really helpful, and he was even generous enough to post one of our jackets back to London after we left it on the boat! I would highly recommend!
