Feeling emotionally exhausted after a therapy session?
It is not necessarily an indicator that therapy isn't right for you or that your Counsellor isn't a good fit. In fact, it can often be a sign of progress in therapy.
Normalization of Feelings. It's important to remember that feeling emotionally exhausted occasionally after a therapy session is quite common. It doesn't mean counseling is not working; it's part of the counselling process.
However, if you consistently feel emotionally drained and distressed after every session, it might be worth discussing this with your counselor. They can help you understand the reasons behind these feelings and work with you to make adjustments to the counseling process if necessary. Open communication with your counselor is essential to ensure you're getting the most out of your therapeutic experience and feeling supported along the way.
