We have a tripet grinder that needed a rebuild, removed spindle from machine and sent it to them. 9 whole long months they had this spindle to repair. We had to outsource parts for grinding because of this. Near the end when we finally received it back we had little to no communication from them regardless of how many and how often we had reached out. After we finally received we installed it back into the machine(machine since has ran less than a handful of operations). All of a sudden back to square one the spindle is acting up yet again. Sent it to motor city to ONLY CHECK OUT THE ENCODER. They failed at that even completely disassembled the spindle down to nothing, told us we crashed the spindle, someone contaminated the internal of the spindle with oil(where spindle is in machine there isn’t either way lube nor hydraulic oil just coolant). They sent us a completely disassembled spindle back to us, told us the warranty was void because of oil contamination. We have no blueprints as to how the spindle goes back together.
To whom it may concern, I highly recommend you do your homework before ever using this company. They are by no means efficient(9 months time for a plug? Give me a break), they will stab you in the back at the drop of a hat and surely point fingers to any fault at the customer. Company deserves blacklisted across the board.
Edit: After another 4/5 months we had sent the sabotaged spindle out to SKF whom are local to us. After a handful of months they were able to rebuild our spindle. After installing we found out that prior to rebuild from SKF the motor windings were all sorts of screwed up(now utilizing a jumper not comparable to machines other 3 spindles in use). Not only will you need to thoroughly go through your spindle mechanically, you will want to look over your spindle motor windings. Motor city certainly has a Gold Star 5/5 for sabotaging customers equipment!
