Oil Leak Repair Completed – Chrysler 3.6L (Calcutta, OH)
Completed a repair today on a Chrysler 3.6L engine in Calcutta, Ohio after the customer reported an oil smell inside the cabin.
Inspection found oil leaking from the oil cooler housing and valve cover gasket, allowing oil to contact hot engine components and create an odor that was noticeable inside the vehicle.
Repairs performed:
• Replaced oil cooler assembly
• Replaced valve cover gasket
• Installed new spark plugs due to oil contamination in plug wells
After repairs, the engine was cleaned and rechecked to confirm no active leaks remain. The odor concern has been resolved.
Oil leaks like this are common on the 3.6L platform and can lead to further issues if not addressed, especially when oil reaches ignition components or hot surfaces.
