Dormant Seeding

Did you know that seeding now will allow your lawn to become healthier faster and without you lifting a finger?
Our area has an abundance of cool season grasses. These grasses do amazing in the cooler temperatures of Spring and Fall, yet do not thrive as well during the summer heat. Applying the seed to the ground now allows the seed plenty of time to make it’s way down into the soil.
Research shows that by having your seed already in the ground means that the second the conditions are right in the spring, the seed will start to germinate and grow. This allows the grass time to be established and withstand the harsh summer conditions.
Shady areas also greatly benefit from early seeding because grass is allowed to establish before the foliage appears on trees.
Seeding in the spring requires daily watering with a lot of effort on your part. Dormant seeding allows the early spring rains to do the work for you.
