Water damage can often occur during a hurricane. Water not properly dried out fast enough can lead to mold.
Here are a couple tips to help with lessening the chance of water intrusion into your home, if you have time and/or are not evacuating.
✔️Sand bagging areas where water is prone to get inside your home.
✔️Reinforce doors
✔️Bolster windows
✔️Assess landscaping. Make sure the landscaping grading slopes down and away from the home in all directions, elevate low areas it improve the surrounding space by adding layers of topsoil.
✔️Clean out the gutters.
✔️Make sure all windows are closed and locked
✔️Check out the siding of the home. If there are ant cracks or structural issues, get them fixed ASAP.
✔️Install and activate sump pumps or some sort of draining system.
