From a General Contractor's Notes.
Create a Layout:
Gauge the proportions of your bathroom to calculate how many tiles are needed for your bath remodel project. Brainstorm possible options for the type, size, color, and pattern of tiles that will suit the style you desire and will stand up to daily use. Map out where exactly the tiles should go in the room, including the borders and accents desired, as well as which direction they should run in.
Secure Necessary Supplies:
Before beginning, pick up all the necessary items for your project such as the tiles, adhesive, grout, spacers, tile cutters, trowels, and a tile saw (should it be needed). Don't forget to also get eye protection and gloves for safety.
Creating a Solid Foundation:
Prior to installation, any existing tiles or wall coverings must be removed.
Damaged and uneven surfaces should also be repaired prior to continuing. Moreover, the walls and floor must be cleaned thoroughly and dried before the application of a waterproofing membrane or sealant is used for the protection of the underlying structure.
To be continued.
