Successful Hospital / Facility Notarizations
As a mobile notary for ten years and more, I have seen issues concerning the completion of a successful notarization for various reasons. In majority cases the reason is due to patients who are uninformed as to what is required and expected to take place before obtaining these services.
We can help improve this situation is by educating the staff who participate in assisting patients to obtain notary services.
What Are to Take Place:
- Provide a short presentation specifically to the staff so they can be prepared to prepare well before the notary arrives. This can be done as part of a staff meeting. A trained notary can make this by a short five minute presentation at the staff meeting giving information about it.
When notarization needed,
- They, the signers, have proper, valid gov't issued picture ID.
- If there are no IDs available, the notary can use Credible Witness(es). who is identified by notary using their ID cards
- The document is filled out completely, and signers must be aware of what they're signing and signing without any form of coercion.
If a signer has difficulty signing, we can use signature by mark’.
-The Signer needs to be alert and aware, not have medical orders to prevent the signing of legal documents.
-The Signer must be able to communicate with the notary directly.
