I had a very disappointing experience at my appointment with Poppy today. My appointment was scheduled for 2:00 PM, but after checking in I waited approximately 15 minutes or more before being taken back.
Once we started, I asked whether she had reviewed any notes from my previous haircut. She told me there were no notes, which was surprising since my last stylist clearly had them. Because of this, I had to re-explain and show what I wanted, which already put the appointment behind.
The haircut itself felt extremely rushed. The sides were not faded as requested, and I was never shown the back of my head. At one point she mentioned my hair was too long, applied product, and then continued cutting with product still in my hair, which felt unprofessional. Toward the end, she asked if I wanted more product, as if the haircut was finished, even though no shampoo or wash had been done. I had to ask about it myself, which I have never experienced before.
Overall, the entire service felt rushed and incomplete. The haircut lasted about 20 minutes, and the final result was not what I asked for — the sides were not faded properly and the top was not styled the way I requested.
At the end of the appointment, I asked if she could use a beeswax hair gel. She said she did not know what that was and told me she only had the product she had already used. That product felt greasy to me, so I declined. I ultimately left with my hair not cut the way I wanted and not styled at all. I was very disappointed with the experience.
