Working with everyone at Mindful Connections has always been a great experience. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, compassionate. Every interaction has resulted in improvement, and I know that anytime I refer anyone to them, they're in great hands.

We (myself and 3 teen daughters) started seeing Erika for family therapy after my 20 + year marriage ended due to severe emotional abuse. I have been to many therapists over the years for my marriage (many were not effective). I was referred to Erika by my personal therapist, and it was a great fit. Erika is phenomenal!!!! We have been seeing her since 2021. Very regular at the beginning as the needs were great. Now we see her as needed to assist walking us through life changes. Life with teens is an adventure. She was able to get my daughters to open up and begin sharing the deep pain they were experiencing and provided a way for the healing to begin (it is a journey). She has a way to re-direct and circle back that allowed the girls to feel safe, and it worked. They began to talk, which is what we needed. Erika has worked with us through past and continuing hurts, how to navigate the very complex process of after divorce, supporting us through a very traumatic/challenging court custody process, provided us with skills for improved communication and improved interaction, helped us navigate my youngest daughter's mental health struggles (will not share here), transitions to college for oldest and middle daughters, and life with a new partner. I cannot say enough how impactful Erika's therapy has been to the well being of myself and my children.

I’ve been taking lithium for about three years now and they finally today told me I’ve been taking my blood tests at the wrong time. Apparently the results aren’t accurate if it’s taken too late. I got sent home and was confused because they’ve always been fine with me doing it at a later time. I wasted money trying to get there. And I just wonder why they’re now letting me know.

I have known the owner for years before she was a therapist and she has always been a lady of integrity and a great heart and easy to talk to. I highly recommend her staff as I know she has taken time to get the best therapist. I reached out to her and she referred me to Shelley Sims. And she has been a great fit for me. It is a clean and modern relaxing place to come to therapy at.

Dr. Erika Johnson is an exceptional psychologist whose expertise and guidance were invaluable during my period of supervision. Her approach is both professional and empathetic, making it easy to trust and engage with the process. Even after the formal supervision ended, Dr. Johnson's consulting services continued to offer support and insight that were instrumental in my continued personal and professional development. Her ability to provide practical advice while ensuring a deep understanding of complex psychological concepts is remarkable. I highly recommend Dr. Johnson for anyone seeking supervision or psychological consulting services. Her dedication to her clients' growth and her commitment to their well-being make her stand out in her field.

Erika is a wonderful councilor. I have her as a family counselor, and I’ve seen all of us grow immensely because of her. Erika has given each of us the tools to become better people and have better relationships with each other. She often brings in other real world scenarios to help us put things into perspective. I definitely recommend Erika to anyone who struggles in relationships (familial or otherwise).

Dr. Erika Johnson has been an exceptional supervisor. I was able to finally achieve my LPC after three years of supervision (I was part-time). Her expertise has been invaluable as I have developed my skills as an effective counselor. Dr. Johnson is particularly commendable for her ability to provide numerous suggestions and strategies to enhance client care. She consistently helps me identify ways to improve my practice and become more effective in my role as a counselor.

10,000% recommend! I have never been so happy with a mental health team before!!!!! If you're a parent and you need help for your child, this is absolutely the place to go. They helped my son open up and learn to recognize his emotions, how to keep calm and tell others what he was feeling without erupting like a volcano! For us adults, they can translate our fears as a parent into calm rational thoughts and help us grow, not only as a parent but as an individual to find our spirit again! They can help you learn how to speak to your child (coworkers too) with clarity and not all the teen drama that you had before!

Couples therapy with Cynthia has been very helpful from the beginning. She is calm, respectful and supportive without being hesitant to explain what needs to be worked on. Her approach always provides ideas of how to approach our issues or adjustments safely and in reasonable steps that haven’t overwhelmed us. This approach allows some form of progress to be made with each session so we see that we are moving forward and aren’t stuck. She is an attentive and thoughtful listener without being reactive or making us feel like our struggles are too extreme or something we can’t work through. We have been impressed with her ability to connect and explain how our struggles/behaviors/reactions come from certain experiences which helps us understand and be able to work through it together and individually.
