MIM Projects

A builder recommended me to MIM projects for my steel calculations. Spoke to.mufaddal who was extremely helpful at 8pm we spoke on the phone explained what I needed and by 9am the next morning he was at my door ready to measure up. 24hrs later I received a detailed calculations and drawings of the steels. Excellent service from beginning to end will definitely use him again and will definitely recommend

Mufaddal was exceptional during the whole process. We realised there was a potential issue once the weight bearing wall was exposed and all communication with him to update the calculation was easy and he promptly helped us. I really recommend his services!

We had a very positive experience with MIM projects. They were always contactable and worked with us to revise and refine the drawings as required. Timelines were always kept and advice was always provided when requested. The design was done based on shared ideas which gave a great collaborative approach with me as a client.

Mim projects provided a structural survey for our small extension recently. The service provided was quick which required only one visit and drawings provided on the same day. I needed the survey quite urgently and although Mim was a little more expensive than their competitors the drawings were sufficient to meet building regulations without any revisits. Mim was able to provide arguments why the additional supports were not necessary. I was very satisfied with the outcome which saved me money from having additional supports, lots of unnecessary work and unnecessary disruption. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mim and would use them again for other projects.

Mufaddal was very professional and was very prompt in his ability to conduct structural calculations for an RSJ to help knock down a wall. Mufaddal engaged well with my contractors and was able to very quickly make some amendments when the contractors opted for a different dimension profile to the RSJ. Overall, very content with his services and would strongly recommend.

We contacted MIM Projects to calculate a beam for a supporting wall to be removed. He is polite, worked very efficiently and supplied the calculations promptly with excellent communication through out. We were very impressed with the comprehensive calculations and, upon sharing these with our chosen builder, they were very pleased with them. The work has now been completed and the building inspectors where very happy with the calculations and beam installation. We would fully recommend MIM Projects and would happily use again. In fact our builder has now used him a few times for other projects as well.

I hate to leave anyone a negative review but unfortunately my experience with MIM Projects was far from ideal. I commissioned Mufaddal to design my loft conversion. The initial plans went back and forth with the council and took a long time and despite my builder starting approximately six months after the initial plans were lodged we didn't receive full approval from the council before work began (we had a kind of conditional approval so were able to begin). But, I understand that sometimes people are busy so I can forgive this and whilst slow, I was kept informed, although I did have to chase at times. However, the big issue I have was that we had no support during the build. Whilst I expected issues to arise (as they often do during building work) I had expected MIM Projects would be on hand to advise. Indeed I thought this was part of the service I had paid for. When my builders started work they hit a large problem which required the support of MIM Projects to reconsider the positioning of the staircase into the loft. We immediately made contact and asked for help. MIM Projects spoke to me and my builders on March 22nd and we were assured of help within the next day or two. The help never came and I admit that we made the decision to not chase this help - I didn't feel we should have needed to do this given the seriousness of the situation was apparent. Work was underway and we didn't have the time to wait and so my builders carried on re-designing as they went. We never heard from MIM Projects again, although as I explained I did not chase them again. I have given two stars as all steel calculations etc. were provided as and when requested but aside from this I have not been left impressed. The building work is now done and complete to an incredibly high standard, but more or less nothing remains as the original drawings which, whilst necessary, I feel were a complete waste of money.
