We called Michael Shaver in a pinch when the city told us we had a bad water leak. When on the phone, there was no discussion of how much a service fee may cost, a minimum cost to repair pipes, etc. We had already located the leak and had it marked, so the next morning, all the tech had to do was dig into the ground (not far at all), replace the pipe (not even 2 foot) and fill it back in. Wasn’t even there the full 2 hours we had scheduled. That’s when they decided to tell us it would be $850. I don’t mind the service call fee, or even the $125 just to dig a hole. But it was $650 minimum for pipe under 2 foot?? Obviously we didn’t have the money on hand, but the tech assured us that we could pay online anytime once we had the invoice and login info. They then issued an automatic late fee because we didn’t pay the tech immediately, even though he assured us it would be fine. Then, when I called to discuss getting the account changed into my name (it was previously another family member), the woman on the phone got a bad attitude, was very snippy, and overall just rude. I then asked her about being able to get my login info so i could pay online and about getting an invoice (I still hadn’t received one, and didn’t want to pay without seeing what we were charged first). I also asked about the late fee, as I thought maybe we had a balance from before we transferred the account. That’s when she told me that if we didn’t pay the tech while they were there, it was automatically late, and there was no fixing it. I then asked if there was anyway to maybe do payments, as $850 is a lot at once. She got even more rude and snippy when I asked this, so I told her I’d figure it out, and hung up. Such poor customer service, communication, and overall experience. Wouldn’t recommend to literally anyone.
