Removing a beehive from inside a bush was an adventure. First, we had to make sure the bees were calm, so we used a smoker to puff a little smoke into the bush. That trick really works; the bees instantly relaxed, making it safer for us to get in there. Carefully, we reached into the bush, cutting out sections of the hive bit by bit. Once we had it all, we boxed up the hive and took it over to a local beekeeper. He was stoked to get it! His face lit up when he saw how active and healthy the bees were. It was awesome knowing they’d have a new home, taken care of by someone who really loves them.
