🔍Fault-Finding Callout Today - Hidden Electrical Issue Behind the Wall ⚡️
Today we were called out to investigate a boiler that had suddenly lost power. What seemed like a simple issue turned out to be a bit of a detective job!
The boiler didn’t have its own dedicated circuit. Instead, it was connected to an old circuit mixed with a newer installation. After carefully tracing the cables and running multiple tests, we discovered the problem: hidden behind a wall, behind a socket, were loose connections in a junction box. The line was completely disconnected.
đź’§ On top of that, the area had visible signs of damp - affecting the walls, sockets, and likely contributing to the issue. This kind of moisture will eventually degrade electrical components if not properly addressed.
🔧 We managed to restore the power safely, but this job is a great reminder of the importance of properly labelled circuits, accessible wiring, and keeping moisture under control near electrics.
