Why it’s harmful: Nail biting can cause several dental issues, including chipped teeth, damage to your gums, and jaw pain. The constant pressure from biting your nails can affect your jaw alignment, while the motion can tear the gum tissue, leading to discomfort or even infection.

The solution: To break this habit, consider using a mouth guard, especially at night. Stress-reducing techniques, such as mindfulness or therapy, can also help. Applying a bitter-tasting nail polish to your nails may discourage you from biting them.

2. BRUSHING TOO HARD
