When a failed system meets a challenging slope, experience matters. Here’s how we solved it.
2' mounded sand filter in Douglas County. Due to limited space on the property, a long and narrow pressurized sand filter was used to replace the property's original field, which failed inspection for a home sale.
Due to the roughly 10% incline on the slope, this sand filter had to be mounded on one side and sloped out at a 3:1 to ensure no effluent could breach the surface during pumping events. The backfill used a minimum of 1' cover of topsoil, and a diversion swale on the upslope side of the field to divert runoff.
Not every property fits a standard septic solution — this one required engineering, precision, and thoughtful site planning. It’s the kind of problem-solving we bring to every job. Call us today to discuss your project.
