Martin Cook Electrical were asked by a client within Central London to replace an existing Ryefield Panel, various cabling and containment due to a large amount of water ingress and damp within the switchroom as there had been a gradual leak over the last few years.
We co-ordinated with UK Power Networks and the client to ensure the power was safely isolated and reinstated at the UKPN substation at the correct times. The works included disconnecting a 240mm SWA cable and reterminating it, installing a new ryefield panel, installing various new cabling and remaking cables off where needed. Parts of the trunking were also replaced due to signs of damp and water ingress.
A small generator was utilised to ensure the building could still maintain their critical services and to ensure their was adequate lighting throughout the defined escape routes at all times.
The job was executed out of hours over a Friday night, Saturday day and evening. The power was reinstated at 7PM on Saturday night, one day earlier than planned. An Electrical Installation Certificate was issued to the client after the job was completed.
