A recent service call in Scripps Ranch involved a Bosch dishwasher displaying error code E:61 and stopping before the cycle was complete. The customer noticed that the dishwasher would start normally but fail during operation and leave dishes unwashed.
Our diagnostic revealed a failed drain pump. The pump had developed an internal electrical short circuit, causing intermittent failures and triggering the E:61 error code. When a drain pump shorts internally, it can interrupt communication with the control system and prevent the dishwasher from draining properly.
We tested the wiring, control board, and drain circuit to confirm the source of the problem. The dishwasher itself is in excellent condition, and replacing the defective drain pump is the proper repair.
