Oven Repair Service — DCS by Fisher & Paykel Range in Carmel Valley, San Diego, CA
The customer contacted us because the DCS by Fisher & Paykel oven was working perfectly in regular cooking modes, but the self-clean function was not operating. Each time the customer tried to start the self-clean cycle, the oven would not lock and the cleaning process would not begin.
During the service visit to a home in the Carmel Valley area of San Diego, our technician performed a detailed inspection of the door lock system. We quickly found that the issue was caused by a failed switch inside the door lock motor assembly. The motor itself was still functional, but the internal switch had worn out and stopped sending the proper signal to the control board.
Because of this, the oven could not verify that the door was securely locked, which prevented the self-clean cycle from starting. This is a normal safety protection feature in modern ovens.
We explained the situation to the customer and will place a special order for a new door lock motor assembly to complete the repair.
At the same time, we inspected the range hood and noticed that the grease filters were worn and due for replacement. We recommended preventive maintenance and will order new filters to properly service the ventilation system.
The customer was satisfied with the diagnosis and service plan.
