Viking refrigerator repair completed near the Oceanside coastline, CA.
Customer contacted us because heavy frost and ice buildup kept forming inside the freezer drawer of this premium Viking refrigerator. During inspection, our technician found that the freezer door gasket was heavily contaminated with old food residue and grease buildup. The gasket had become extremely hard over time, and multiple micro-cracks had already started forming along the sealing surface.
Because the gasket could no longer seal correctly, warm air was constantly entering the freezer compartment, creating moisture, frost buildup, and excessive ice around the drawer rails and evaporator area. Left untreated, this type of issue can eventually damage the evaporator fan motor, overload the compressor, and reduce cooling performance.
Since the replacement Viking gasket had to be specially ordered, we temporarily restored and conditioned the original gasket to make it flexible again so the customer could continue using the refrigerator without severe ice accumulation while waiting for the new part. This prevented the freezer from icing over completely and helped avoid a full defrost shutdown.
Once the new OEM Viking door gasket arrived, our technicians completed the final installation. Because the temporary repair held the seal properly, the refrigerator stayed stable and did not require a complete defrost or extended downtime during the second visit.
