Been coming here for some time and honestly really enjoyed it every time but noticed that about 48 hours after a cut I would develop a small rash..... didn't think much of it. Fast forward to my most recent visit and unfortunately 24 hours after my cut had to go to urgent care due to a severe staph infection which was diagnosed as Barber itch and 1 week of antibiotics. Unfortunately while the breakout in the past was never this bad and always minor, I always used the same barber and came to the realization that this in fact is a tool sterilization issue. While I will not publicly name the barber out of courtesy, this is truly a serious hygiene issue and management needs to be on top of tool cleaning and sterilization between clients. Unfortunately I have moved on and have no issues elsewhere but don't let this deter you, but use this as a learning experience, make sure you see them sterilize their tools and ask. Unfortunately it was to late after I realized that many times I never saw them clean tools upon me sitting down as it's a assembly line. Hair cut quality was always spot on

First appointment today w Kelsey at ManCave for Men at the Waterside location. Exceptional experience! Scheduled appointment online - seamless, easy process. Upon arrival I was greeted with a smile and quickly noticed the people working there seemed to enjoy their work and their co-workers. Positive upbeat atmosphere. After check-in I was offered something to drink and immediately taken to Kelsey for my 'Premier haircut and finish' even though I was early for my appointment. Kelsey like the others was welcoming, professional and friendly. Now for the haircut - Outstanding job by Kelsey, a true professional! He started by listening to what I wanted. He was attentive to the details of the cut and service. From start to finish I felt like my business was appreciated. I highly recommend ManCave for Men at Waterside, Lakewood Ranch and specifically Kelsey Blanco!

I brought my father there yesterday because he’s been in the hospital and he had a head of grey hair like Albert Einstein! My Dad has Dementia and so I knew he may present as a difficult client. They set him up with Kelsy - Master Barber . . . only the very best for my Dad 🥰 Kelsy was beyond extraordinary. He put forth his best efforts to engage my Dad in conversation but not too much as to overwhelm him. He was so very mindful of his balance (he utilizes a walker) and took the utmost personal care of him. I was not only impressed, but extremely grateful that he was in such good hands. I think my Dad’s last haircut from a salon was many years ago from “Nick” his old fashioned barber. He told me he only goes to Nick. I told him that Nick’s long retired Dad and at this venture, I’m thinking he may be cutting Angel’s 😇 hair only. So despite the occasional cross look in my direction, my Dad had the experience and transformation of a lifetime. Kelsy took at least 10 years off my 88 year old father. The cut was performed with such precision, framing his face in the coolest way, it was like he had his own personal Hollywood stylist. Kelsy gave my father a beautiful clean shaven face without incident (which was no easy task as his beard was as wild and out of control as his Albert Einstein hair). He even trimmed his eyebrows so perfectly (I think that was a first for my Dad). Kelsy then gingerly walked my Dad over to the sink and put forth a concerted effort, remained patient and just gave my Dad grace so that my he was able to recognize that he was in good hands as Kelsy guided him to lay back in the groove. I was taken aback by Kelsy’s approach to do this after the cut to ensure my Dad’s comfort with regard to that “can’t wait to get home to take a shower and get all these little hairs off me”. That was a first! While Kelsy had earned my trust within the first few minutes, he had my Dad with the “hot towel massage”.💆‍♂️. Then Kelsy fine tuned what I already thought was perfection. Despite my Dad’s Dementia and his considerable cognitive decline, he asked me to allow him to “tip” Kelsy, but not before asking me over and over what I gave him and if it was enough. The experience Kelsy gave my father for over an hour was priceless and forever memorable. My heartfelt thanks to you Kelsy 🥰 And, the exceptional service transcended beyond Kelsy. The girl at the front desk was so genuinely kind and got to my Dad’s sweet tooth by offering him some chocolates 🍫 and then recommended a wonderful place for us to get a bite to eat -and she was spot on. I told our waitress that the girl (whose name I remembered yesterday - my apologies) recommended the restaurant and it just was the perfect way to cap off our afternoon. The ManCave at Waterside in Lakewood Ranch is so much more than an exceptional salon with talented artisans, they are genuinely beautiful people. With deepest gratitude Kelsy et al . . . Jennifer

Yesterday, Juan and Kseniya both worked on me and turned my hair disaster into a masterpiece. They should both be considered national treasures. By the time I left the shop, my mood was 1000 percent improved. I went straight to work after my cut and my coworkers were stunned!!! I ended up tipping them more than the cut even cost. They're THAT good. Mancave, you guys should do whatever it takes to hold on to talent like theirs!

Ron is always amazing and professional — my son will only go to him for his haircuts. During this visit, Ron went above and beyond. My son passed out in the middle of his haircut, and Ron immediately jumped into action. He helped me get my son safely into a chair, kept him cool with water and cold towels, and made sure he stayed calm until the paramedics arrived. Once my son was alert and cleared by the EMTs, Ron even finished his haircut. Thank you to Ron and everyone at ManCave — you were all incredible during a very scary situation. We’re so grateful for your care and professionalism

Booked last minute for my son’s picture day and was so grateful they had the perfect slot right after church on Sunday morning. Frank did a fantastic job with my 8-year-old’s haircut! The young lady at the counter was so personable and welcoming, and my daughter absolutely loved her. Wonderful experience all around, we’ll definitely be back.

This place is great. Super convenient and they make it easy to schedule, grab something to drink AND get your hair cut. Mercedes is my stylist and is excellent. She will make you look great.

Raquel is the reason I drive 30 minutes from Venice to come get my haircut & beard done. If she's on vacation, I'm not going. I'll wait till she's back. She's been my barber for 4 years now. I fall asleep in the chair every single time, it's like therapy. The most relaxing experience. 100% Got my son his haircut too 😎 Thanks Raquel!!!

Mr. Frank is amazing!!! I have a three year old son who is kind of traumatized by me because I accidentally cut his ear. So he hates getting a haircut, cries every time we get one. He is slowly doing better and not crying as much. Mr.Frank is very patient and very kind with him. Thank you Mr. Frank, we really appreciate you!!!
