I stopped in here yesterday afternoon for lunch after my coworker recommended it, and I left feeling like a million bucks! The community was showing this place some love today too which is always great to see. I was also greeted by such a kind hearted lady working the register. She had such a warm vibe and her customer service was excellent. I ordered the beef ugali and I cleared the whole plate. The best way to describe it would be sharing all the thoughts that went through my mind at the time of eating. Ooo, ugali has an interesting texture and they made it into a geometrical shape, cool! Ugali goes so well with both the veggies and the meat what the heck?! Whatever yellowness is soaking into the ugali from these veggies is actually delicious. This meat with peppers is so good and it is in a bunch of perfectly bite sized pieces, wow. This green hot sauce has the right amount of heat and goes great on the ugali. Plus I get a banana and a bottle of water, terrific! Anyways, everything was seasoned well and each component complimented the other perfectly. The portions were generous, the dish was filling, and I left feeling super energized. I can't wait to stop by here again and explore more of the menu. I was also able to find free parking relatively easy about a block up the street in a neighborhood. The dining tables and space could've used a wipe down but other than that, no complaints!

I ordered Rice with Goat for take out and it was so good. The goat was so amazingly tender while the rice was perfectly fluffy. I also had a beef sambusa which was filled with ground beef. The service was fast and very friendly. Would definitely visit again.

Chill, family-friendly space, good food. Ordered beef suqaar with canjeero to go in the late summer. They were half out of canjeero, so they put 1 malawax instead of the full serving of canjeero. Satisfying meal. Would've preferred a touch more seasoning on the beef, but overall very tasty and it did feel very homemade. Both the canjeero & the malawax tasted great with the beef. The server was kind. Will go again.

While visiting Minneapolis we wanted to try Somalian food. Looking at the reviews, we ended up in Mama Safia's Kitchen. In one word, the experience was 'great'! Samosas were fresh and testy. I tried goat lever and Somalian bread. The servers were really friendly and explains things with passion. The restaurant was clean. The spicy tea was refreshing. Overall we were highly satisfied. We would like visit again.

Walked in and ordered to go. Sambusas and Goat with Rice. Order was ready fairly quickly. Came with a drink and piece of fruit. The chicken and beef sambusas were perfectly crispy and came with a spicy green sauce. The biriyani rice was cooked well. The goat was tender but could use a bit more flavor. Still all enjoyable!

I came in with a group of my coworkers for lunch. We had never tried Somali food before and the server was very hospitable and explained all we needed to know to make our experience the best. She gave us complimentary soup which was delicious. Two of my coworkers got the mango smoothie and said it was delicious and creamy. I tried the Somali tea and it was so flavorful and delicious. We tried the beef and chicken sambusas and got several different dishes. We left very full and happy. Highly recommend!

Had an amazing lunch/snack at Mama Safia’s today. Folks were friendly, the sambusas weren’t too spicy for me (which I was worried about) and the Somali tea was INCREDIBLE. The perfect warm drink to sip on a snowy day. I highly recommend it.

Got the rice and goat, which comes with some salad. The turkish couple running the place were quite friendly, and the food was decent but not really remarkable.
