Signs:
• Larval case
• Black droppings
• Small holes in wool, cotton & rugs
Problems:
• Gradual fabric damage
• Damage to carpets & stored winter wear
• Silent infestation in undisturbed areas
When Active:
• Year-round indoors, especially fall–winter in Edmonton
• Spring–fall higher activity in Calgary
Prevention:
• Wash or heat-treat clothing
• Vacuum closets & carpet edges
• Store wool garments in airtight bins
• Use traps for monitoring
